When the Wheels Came Off

Sep 18, 2020

She sat across from me in tears as she told me,

“After all he has done, I really still love him!”

Tammy is a wonderful mom who is aching from the loss of her marriage to her husband of 20 years. They served in ministry for most of that time, and as the wheels came off and there was no more avoiding the alcohol and other idols that had filled their marriage, she now sits in our living room and tries to make sense of the past.

“If only someone could have helped us before it was too late. We tried counseling but he just wouldn’t be honest.
He needed a friend and so did I!“

This is a common story that comes to us as we serve in our community. Of course the names are changed to protect, but these stories are far too regular. So many need to be able to connect with someone who understands the pressure of ministry and the fear of opening up about their struggles with sin. We are so glad that Standing Stone not only cares for people in this struggle, but seeks to help them before they are at this point.

Please pray!

  • Pray for Tammy and her family to find healing and hope in the wake of sorrow. Pray for God to be glorified in their lives.
  • Pray for the other four ladies Ruth meets with as she begins to serve more in this area.
  • Pray for Ruth to be completely supported by December, 2020.
  • Pray about partnering with Ruth as she continues to raise her support. She is 1/3 of the way to her goal.
